I started making moccasins about 6 months ago after deciding that I needed to stop coveting baby shoes that were way too expensive for our budget. So instead, I started working on a pattern and once I felt like it was just right I set out to find some leather to complete this project. I had no idea that you had to buy an entire hide, and with how expensive those were, I might as well buy two pairs of moccs for full price!
It was then that I thought maybe some of my other mama friends would be interested in a pair. After getting enough interest, I decided to do it and sold quite a few pairs to my friends for only $15 plus shipping. After I was finished I realized that I had made a whopping $1 per pair! Which I LOVE that I was able to get some cute shoes on some cute babies, but they were a lot of work and $1 was just not quite worth it when I thought about making more.
I debated whether or not I should continue with this project and after a while I decided that it would be a great way to put a little more money into our baby fund. Deciding on a price was very difficult. I didn't want to over charge and have people feeling like they were getting ripped off. I thought that if I made about $10 per pair that would be worth it to me. So I decided that $30 including the shipping would be a fair price and hopefully you all agree!
